It's really a 3-day shoot, so get there on Thursday!

In Response To: First time for me. Any advice?

Be sure to get there Friday before about 8a, and attend the shooter's meeting at 9a. This is where Kenton and Ed will go over all of the match scheduling (which you should watch for sure, take part if you want - it's free), safety items, and rules about the shoot (like not shooting at downed planes and no scoped-rifles for the first 1/2 hour on reactive targets). Also, the safety briefing allows everybody a chance to gather and so everyone's on the same page with safety.

It's a shoot, so the line is hot more often than not. The only non-shooting times are when targets are being set during lunch and dinner, and after about 10pm or so when the line is called. Other than that, you'll hear nonstop gunfire throughout the day. Bring ear plugs for when your ear muffs get swampy.

Bring lots of water - there are no sources at the campsite other than understanding BCR's. Bring shade (EZ-up or similar) as just because it's spring doesn't mean it won't be hot in the sun.

Bring lots of cash; there are a lot of cool things for sale there, even though it's technically not a 'show'. Tracer, ammo, para flares, rocket flares, etc. are all available and cash is king. An RV/camper is the best way to do it, but tents are alright if you can nestle it between some campers or parked cars. You'll have a good time regardless of the weather.
